By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Amanda_Pane]Amanda Pane What is a secured personal loan? A secured personal loan is a loan which is taken against collateral and used for personal purpose is called secured personal loan. In UK the property which is used as collateral is a home with sufficient equity in it. A home with no equity in it cannot work as collateral. What purpose can I use the loan? With Secured personal loans is offered for accomplishing personal needs. A wide range of personal needs like making improvement of ones home, going out to exotic locations for enjoying holidays, consolidating multiple debts into one loan, bearing medical expenditure, financing education and any such major personal need can be carried out with secured personal loan. But it is not recommendable to use this loan to meet the day-to-day expenditure. How much can I borrow through a secured personal loan? As a rule you can take out anything between 500 and 25000 through a secured personal loan. However, the loan amount largely depends upon the value of the collateral you offer. If you offer high value collateral you can borrow a hefty amount. If the collateral is not valued highly you may not be allowed to take out so big an amount. Can I take a secured personal loan with poor credit record? Of course, you can. Lenders attitude towards bad credit is changed now. If your present financial condition is stable enough you can qualify for the loan. Moreover, in case of this loan things are different. You offer collateral which guarantees that the lender will have his money back. So, he will not have no hesitation to offer you the loan. About The Author

Secured Loans,Terms and Tips
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Luke_Ashworth]Luke Ashworth Often, people wonder about the meaning of common terms used in relation to secured loans. These terms are often used casually, as if everyone already knows what they mean. However, many people find loan terms confusing, and negotiating the loan application process without complete understanding can be quite intimidating and even more frustrating. Read on to learn the meaning of some important secured loan terms. As you search for a secured loan, you're sure to find much information about interest and interest rates. So what is interest? Simply put, interest is the amount you pay in excess of the amount you borrow, to allow the lender to make a profit from lending you money. Basically, interest is the amount you pay to receive the loan and capital is the amount you actually borrow. The interest rate is the percentage you actually pay in interest. This means if you have, for example, a six percent interest rate, you pay an additional six percent on top of the amount you borrowed. Interest rates vary, depending on national and local rates, as well as a variety of other factors. No discussion of secured loans is complete unless it includes collateral as a topic. Collateral is property of value that is offered to a lender as a guarantee of repayment of the loan. This is the major difference between secured and unsecured loans. Secured loans are often offered at lower interest rates, because lenders have the security of knowing they can sell the property you provided as collateral if you default on your loan. Secured Loan Tips Secured loans offer a great way to borrow the money you need and pay it back over a longer period of time than is normally allowed with unsecured loans. Secured loans are easier to obtain, especially for those with damaged credit, as long as the borrower can offer sufficient collateral. Furthermore, secured loans are often obtainable at competitive interest rates. When you're shopping for a secured loan, it pays to look for a loan with flexible repayment terms. Look for a loan that offers perks, like payment holidays. Payment holidays allow you to temporarily stop making payments for a specific amount of time. Also, look for a loan that won't cause you to be penalized if you choose to pay off your loan balance early. Be sure to read the fine print before you sign any loan document. Doing so can save you not only money, but also headaches. Depending on your unique situation, you could borrow anything from 5,000 up to 75,000. However, some lenders may be willing to lend higher amounts. Your loan payments will be due monthly and the term of your loan will likely span between five and 20 years. The amount and term of your loan will be determined by several factors, including your credit rating, income, and employment status. Even though you might be anxious to obtain a secured loan, discipline yourself and avoid taking that very first offer. It is imperative that you take the time to shop around and compare loan quotes. Doing so is the only way to ensure that you get the best interest rate, best loan terms, and best overall secured loan deal. Otitis Media - What? Why? And How?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Michael_Russell] Michael Russell The ear, in the world of medicine, is not just the ear that we commonly refer to. The ear is quite a complex structure and consists of 3 parts: the outer ear, the middle ear and the inner ear. Otitis media, as the name suggests, refers to infection in the middle ear. How does otitis media occur? The middle ear, which is the space behind the eardrum, is normally filled with air. A tube normally connects the middle ear to the throat. This tube is called auditory tube or the Eustachian tube (Eustachian was a chap who discovered the tube hundreds of years ago). The function of the tube is to normalize or equalize the pressure between the middle ear and the atmosphere. When blocked, pressure in the middle ear decreases, causing mucus (or fluid) to fill up the space. The mucus may then become contaminated by bacteria and viruses, thus allowing infection to occur. This is the basic mechanism of middle ear infection. There are many reasons for the Eustachian tube to become blocked. One of the commonest being an upper respiratory infection or common cold, which causes the Eustachian tube to swell up and block. This is particularly common in children as their Eustachian tubes are smaller and not yet fully developed. The other less common cause being a tumor growing around the opening of the Eustachian tube in the throat, causing the tube to obstruct. This is particularly common in the middle age or the elderly population, where tumor of the throat is prevalent. Having said that, very often, an ear infection occurs 'out of the blue' for no apparent reason. What are the symptoms of a middle ear infection? Earache is the most common complaints. It is often described as a deep ache or pressure, sometimes bad enough to disrupt sleep. Dulled hearing and deafness are also common symptoms; they usually last for several days. Fever is also common, but not very 'specific' as other infections can also cause fever. Young children with middle ear infections may also vomit and tend to look very ill. Babies cannot point to their pain but if they are irritable, feel hot and crying all the time, a middle ear infection should always be suspected. Discharge is a common symptom too. As the infection progresses, pressure begins to build up in the middle ear. When it is too high, the eardrum 'pops', allowing its content (usually pus) to flow out from the middle ear. Are all earaches caused by middle ear infection? Absolutely not! Lots of other diseases can cause earaches as well. For example, people with toothache can sometimes have earaches, this is due to pain being 'referred' to the middle ear. Other causes of earache due to referred pain include sinusitis (infection of the sinus), sore throat, tongue ulcers, thyroid problems, outer ear infections, so on and so forth. What is the treatment for a middle ear infection? The aim of treatment is to kill the bugs responsible, to control the pain and to control the fever (to bring the high temperature down to normal). Antibiotics are commonly given to kill the germs responsible, the commonest being Amoxicillin. Pain killers (or analgesics) are given to control the pain, panadol is usually sufficient but some people may need stronger pain killers. Lastly, panadol can also do the job in lowering the high temperature as well. The course of the disease is usually between 7 to 14 days. Michael Russell

Just How Random Are Winning Numbers In Lotteries?
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Alex_Nemal]Alex Nemal State lotteries, Mega Million lotteries just to name a few well known legalized ways to take your money. Chances of winning a lottery are about equal to chances of been hit by a lightning, that is if you truly believe in what they tell you about random nature of winning numbers. I will take a look at simple facts and will let you make a decision. Just HOW RANDOM are the winning numbers? Answering this question one way or another will either keep you among the millions that play and then envy the winners or get you a bit closer to the future you always wanted. In theory every number played has an equal chance to be drawn or is it? Even when Albert Einstein studied gambling, he came to conclusion that luck doesnt exist and that probability is The Deciding Factor. But dont let me mesmerize you with words and lets work with some real facts. If you are a thinking person, and I assume you are, if you are reading this article you need hard facts and flashy words will not convince you. So here we go Let have a look at this website, provided to us by one of the most popular lotteries Mega Millions: http://www.valottery.com/megamillions/game_analysis.asp This page will clearly show you that some numbers have been drawn 18 times as of time of writing this article, making them a hot numbers and at the same time other numbers became winning numbers only 3 or 4 time. Doesnt it strike you as odd? Or even better question would be How do you make sense out of what you have just learned and use it to your advantage? Im sure you know at least one person, who follows their own system for picking winning lottery numbers. People play their birthdays, license plate numbers, badge numbers you can add to this long list your own options. Quite frankly I will not go too deep into this madness, or is it? I know of at least 2 different systems myself, used for picking numbers in lotteries. One of the most known is Frequency Theory that simply allows you to highlight Hot And Cold numbers in the draw and attempts to Predict the next winning combination. One of the simplest and yet effective systems it relies solely on previous performance data, that is made available to us and can lead to success. Numerology System is based on the study of numbers and how they affect our daily lives. This system goes deep into centuries and observations made by our ancestors on how each number has effect on each person. They have found that even letters have a corresponding numerical value that can be easily transformed into a winning combination. Whether you believe in system or not a matter of your personal preference but if you already playing wouldnt you like to increase your chances? I would and am doing now, although my jackpot is still in the future. Or so I hope. Alex is publisher of Super Gambling Strategy Guide, providing a strategy for all your games, including detailed explanation of system mentioned. http://www.casinobonusgambling.com/ebundle/ Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Alex_Nemal http://EzineArticles.com/?Just-How-Random-Are-Winning-Numbers-In-Lotteries?&id=243038 buy href tramadol tramadollinetblogcom

Betting on NCAA March Madness
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Anthony_LeMaire]Anthony LeMaire For the people who enjoy sports betting there is nothing more challenging and exciting than betting on NCAA March madness. Everyone has there favorite teams, and if they make it to the tournament in March the first instinct is to bet that they will go all of the way. However, serious gamblers know that betting on NCAA March madness requires careful study of the teams and their records. Many teams who have been very strong in their conferences all year may find themselves in the underdog role when they enter tournament play. This puts additional pressure on a team and its important to know how it will respond. One way to find out is to consult the experts at a good sportsbook. These experts know everything there is to know about teams and individual players. Theyll know how a team has responded to an underdog role before, and if it makes the team members play with more intensity. Theyll also know how the individual players will match up against their opponents. This type of information can be very valuable when betting on NCAA March madness. For example a player may be an outstanding star in a weak conference, and the experts can tell you if theyll match up well against players from a more powerful conference. When betting on NCAA March madness you also want to look at how a team has done during the year against the point spread. If there is a team with a great win record, but a dismal record against the spread this will certainly influence your betting on NCAA March madness [http://www.hollywoodsportsbook.com/]sportsbook. Medicine Is The Third Leading Cause Of Death In United States
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Bryan_Brodeur] Bryan Brodeur The American Medical Associations own esteemed research journal, the Journal of the AMA or JAMA has revealed a frightening statistic: In the United States alone, the third leading cause of death by any means is medically caused death. What this means is that heart disease is our number one killer, cancer is our number two killer, and the conscientious following of medical protocols is the number three killer of people in our culture; a frightening fact for those of us who blindly accept a doctors advice as bible truth. Here is how these deaths played out statistically, according to Dr. Barbara Starfield of the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health: - 12,000 patients died due to unnecessary surgery - 7,000 patients died due to medication errors in hospitals - 20,000 patients died due to other errors in hospitals - 80,000 patients died due to infections in hospitals - 106,000 patients died due to non-error, negative effects of drugs These total to 225,000 deaths per year from iatrogenic causes! Iatrogenic is a word that means death caused by the care of a physician. Take a long look at the 106,000 people who died from non-error: these are people who died taking the right pill at the right time, exactly as their doctor had told them to. Take a moment to consider that before you swallow your next prescription. Now, take a moment to think about this, because it is important you understand the thrust of this concept: blindly following your doctors orders can be the most deadly decision you ever make about your health. Your health comes from inside of you. Your body is natures ultimate machine. Why on earth would you ever be backed into such a corner that you would rely on medications or on surgery for your health? How were we ever convinced that opening our bodies with knives or poisoning our bodies with deadly chemicals would ever resolve our health issues? So, if medicine is the third leading cause of death, what can we do to avoid falling into its traps? How do we know if the pill we are taking today, the same pill we have taken for years, will or will not be the pill that causes a violent, deadly reaction inside of us? Unfortunately, the answer is: we dont know. All we know for absolute certain is that every medication is a toxic chemical. Every surgery is an invasion of toxic chemicals and a violation of our internal order. Your best bet is to learn more about your body and your health: to think beyond what the medical world is feeding you. In order to escape the pitfalls of the medical system, you have to know more about yourself and about the natural doctors of healthcare. You were not designed to be reliant on a pill or needing a surgery. You body is literally natures ultimate machine, dwarfing all of the powers of a hospital. In every heartbeat you create and distribute the right drug at the right time for the right condition, sending it to the right spot in your own body with no side effects and with no need for outside intervention. Your body, when running at its peak, requires no outside interference. All your body needs is for you to make sure it is running at its peak. Drugs and surgeries only cause complications and get in the way of your internal natural ability to heal. Consult with a chiropractor, a doctor who will help you remove internal interferences and imbalances. Learn to balance and strengthen your own body. Leave drugs and surgeries as your absolute last resort when making any health care decision. Finally, and I will repeat this because it is so vitally important: get to know exactly how your body actually functions. Discover the power of a balanced, toned, and flexible body. The advantages you will gain when you focus on yourself and seriously take advantage of the incredible body you were born with will go way beyond simple health. Your personal power and your mental focus demand that you maintain your body in the shape it was designed to run in. Your health and your life depend on how well you know your body, how to restore it to its full balance and flexibility, and how to harness the incredible powers you were born with. Food for Thought: Exercise Your Mind
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Debra_Gorin] Debra Gorin Depression is a disorder marked by sadness, low energy, impaired concentration, and feelings of dejection. Some people believe that depression is normal. Hectic daily activities and the conflict between family and career cause constant stress. Yet depression and anxiety as a response to stress are not normal. They can be signs of illness, which may worsen and result in physical symptoms or an inability to function. Life was much simpler for the last two generations. Father worked; mother stayed home. This is no longer the model. Some now view families as an endangered species. There are more single mothers working than ever before. There is greater stress and competition for well-paying jobs. The result: long hours at work, away from the family. Children are raised with limited supervision. Thus we see more children with emotional problems derived from a lack of knowledge as to who they are and what their role is in todays society. Similarly, adults suffer from the loss of nurturing that family time should provide. Until recently, mental health was not discussed openly. However, there is a growing awareness that choosing therapy can be helpful, even necessary, to cope with todays life. Psychiatric help is often sought for the entire family. Today, being healthy means not only having a sound body, but also a sound mind and spirit. People exercise their bodies daily, yet they neglect to exercise their feelings and emotions. Young men are taught to hide and deny emotions. Women are reluctant to seek help in coping with their depression, anxiety, or distressed relationship. The same fitness fanatic who exercises daily, eats right and has two physicals a year will neglect the mind until a crisis is reached. Emotional problems dont just happen, but are cumulative and they can be avoided at times with the same daily fitness and annual physical approach we use when caring for our bodies. The Chinese say the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Just like its better to maintain a healthy heart than recover from a heart attack, dealing with emotional issues is easier before the chaos of a crisis breaks. Think about exercising your emotions" and give your mental health professional a call. Debra S. Gorin, M.D. received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. Predatory Lenders Being Targeted
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Nigel_Kerry]Nigel Kerry Maine State is all gearing up for the introduction of a landmark bill that can put brakes on predatory lending practices. Speaking on this issue, supporters of this bill have said that if introduced, this bill would be the first in the country addressing such a long-term national crisis. The bill is cosponsored by more than 100 legislators and around 40 consumers, lending, religious and other organizations. According to House speaker Glenn Cummings, D-Portland, who is the bill's chief sponsor, predatory lending is a crime because of which not only individuals who opt for such loans, but even their subsequent generations are going to be affected. Even communities would not be spared from its ill-effects. Predatory lenders use various strategies to trap homeowners and make quick profits. Some of these include troubling homeowners with balloon payments, hidden fees and unreasonable increase in the interest rates. Due to this, several people are now at the risk of losing their homes due to foreclosure and bankruptcy. According to a study conducted by Coastal Enterprises Inc. the rate of foreclosures in Maine State have been constantly increasing in the last four quarters. Sen. Dana Dow of Waldoboro believes that these types of predatory lending practices are not carried out by local banks or local credit unions of Maine. According to him, this situation of loan abuse is due to an increased number of out-of-state brokers and lenders doing business in the state. Under this new legislation, borrowers would be given increased protection in case of high rate loans. Several practices such as flipping loans or persuading borrowers to get their debt refinanced in case of defaults would be abolished. Apart from this, there would be an increased restriction on the fees charged to the borrowers. The lenders would be directed to approve loans only to customers who will be able to repay the loan. Crowd Anxiety
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Justin_Meyer]Justin Meyer Especially during the holiday season, you can find yourself in some very crowded situations. It can be very tense, and your reaction might start to get hostile. You may find that you are getting jumpy and nervous. You may also find that you start to feel crowded in, have problems breathing. It is a form of claustrophobia and can be fixed with a few calming techniques. However, you want to try and avoid the situation whenever possible. Because the situations will invariably raise your stress levels, you want to try and keep calm, try and stay relaxed as often as possible. And since you will inevitably end up in these situations at times, the best thing to do is try and find ways to stay calm whenever you can. The first thing that you can do is make sure you have a clear exit path. Know exactly how you want to get out of the situation and know how you are getting there. It may help for you to keep one eye on that exit path to make sure it doesnt get blocked off. And if it does, you can start looking for another one. Finding a few exit routes in the beginning might be helpful. You might also want to start shopping during the middle of the day, or online. Because there are less crowds, you will be able to control your entry and exit a little more, you wont be jostled as much and you might feel more comfortable. Online, you have no people and you should feel fine. Five Things Anybody Interested In Sports Betting Must Know About The NFL
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=D._James]D. James If you're even slightly interested in Sports Betting you probably already know the NFL is always full of surprises. That's because it's hard to predict which players are going to unexpectedly make an impact, and which players are going to unexpectedly lose some of their effectiveness. 1. The New England Patriots Are Back The New England Patriots are still one of the best teams in the NFL, if not THE best team in the NFL. If it wasn't for a fluke loss against the Broncos in last year's playoffs, they would have probably won the Super Bowl. You will go broke betting against this team. Tom Brady is the nest QB in the NFL, and their defense is quietly solid. 2. The Steelers Defense is Still Tough Don't let the early season results fool you. The Pittsburgh Steelers defense is still one of the toughest in the league. The problem early in the season has been turnovers, and a sluggish Pittsburgh offense. Look for the Steelers to go on a defensive terror in the next several weeks now that they're playing in desperation mode. Troy Polamalu may be the best defensive back since Ronnie Lott. 3. Some Teams REALLY Stink! There are a handful of teams that I wouldn't want to be caught dead betting on. They are Buffalo, Miami, Oakland, and Detroit. I left out Arizona because they might get better as the year goes on. I doubt it, but they might. The other team that really stinks is Detroit. I didn't include them in the teams I wouldn't bet on because they play Miami in a few weeks. 4. New Orleans is NOT for Real... Look for the Saints to crumble as the year goes on. If they finish better than 9-7 it will be a surprise. The Saints have won some lucky games this year against some bad teams, and against some good teams that had a bad week. Don't be fooled by their early season record. They aren't going to be taken lightly the rest of the season, which means that they will have trouble winning the rest of the season. 5. Atlanta Has NO Defense The Falcons defense had the benefit of their offense controlling the clock early in the year. As the season progresses, teams are going to notice that the Falcon's defensive secondary is pathetic. Look for high scoring games the rest of the season. So there you have it, the top 5 things anybody serious about [http://www.davidjamessports.com/index.php ]Sports Betting needs to know about the NFL season. While there are certainly times when favorites warrant our attention, my experience tells me that betting underdogs is the best way to make money in soccer betting. Here are 5 reasons why you should pay special attention to the dogs every season. 1. Not every win is created equal Favorites Odds tends to be on the low side ranging from 1.70-1.85. It doesn't serve much value especially if you are betting big considering you risk $1000 on a singles even if you did win, you only managed a $700 to $825 profit. With a 3 bets/per day system which I'm adopting a typical scenario of 1 win 1 draw and 1 loss situation would result in a viguorish loss of $150-$300. However if you are betting on underdogs the odds tends to range from $1.975-$2.15 with the scenario of 1 win 1 draw and 1 loss situation would result in minimal viguorish loss or more often a profit due to the value odds. 2. Underdogs don't get any respect! They don't get it from the public, sometimes leading to higher than deserved spreads. More importantly, they don't get it from their opposition. Good teams can sometimes take bad teams lightly (especially if players and coaches minds are on other things, like next week's tougher opponent). Research and an understanding of historical trends can reveal great situations in which underdogs are poised for an upset. 3. The Public Can't Help Itself The average bettor loves the popular teams (favorites), often times pushing lines unreasonably high. In fact, almost every week, with the right research, you can spot teams that should be favorites but are getting points against a popular team that has been installed as a favorite due to the public "bandwagon effect"? 4. Got Courage? Most bettors don't have the courage to go with certain underdogs. They see a (perceived) good team versus a (perceived) bad team and assume it won't be a contest. They have formed an opinion about how horrible some teams are based on a recent blowout or past personal gambling loss. Again, with the right combination of statistical and situational research, some undervalued dogs can be spotted each week. There are also certain situations in which bad teams have historically and reliably outperformed their average. Match that with a historically-proven situation in which favorites under-perform and you have yourself a reliable upset scenario. 5.What It All Means Obviously just playing all underdogs is not the answer (that would yield you approximately 50% wins and a negative account balance). However, with the right research, you can spot some very high-value underdog winners each week. Best regards

The Top Ten Worst Work at Home Scams Part 2
By Marsha James 6. Make Lots of Money Taking Surveys You probably get one of these in your email a week. Sign up for free or for a few of them a fee, and you will soon earn a steady income just filling out surveys. It is true that people used to make money doing this. Not enough to quit there jobs and pay there bills but $30-$100 or more a month. With the influx of people surfing the internet trying to get a buck anywhere they can, this is no longer the case. If it were that easy to make money everyone would quit there jobs and do it and companies wouldnt be making much money. The sites are still there, but now most of them put you in a raffle to earn "cool stuff" not money. Others will put you in a raffle to some money. But what are the chances of you winning. And what are the chances of you winning more than once a year? That is not steady income. The ones that do say they will pay you, up up $30 or more for a survey, leave something out. You will sit and wait for that email telling you that you have a survey, but you more than likely will never get one. Or even better you get one, and after filling out 3 or 4 questions such as age, sex, location, and yearly salary, you will quickly find out your not what there looking for. Others will slam your email with surveys that pay 10 cents if your lucky. At the end if you can get even $20 a month on surveys then your still stuck, because many will only mail out checks of $25-$100 dollars, so it would be months before you get the money, IF you get it at all. 7.Customer Service There are companies out there who you will apply free to work for them as a customer service rep, from your home. It seems legitimate because you didnt have to pay a fee, the website looks professional, which it usually is and youll be earning an income and you dont have to sell anything. The fine print is, you have just applied to be a telemarketer. I myself just last year read over the entire site and in the end all the information and FAQ informed me that I would be making no cold calls, or outgoing calls. I would be taking incoming calls from people who are customers. That much was true. However the last phone call between me and my representative/manager I am informed that I will need to pay $29.99 a month for the phone fees and but Ill make it back with my commissions. Fee and commissions all in the same sentence about a job that wasnt telemarketing. Yes I would be receiving calls from customers, and I would be getting a salary but what you dont find out til you apply and are accepted is that you will be making maybe $2.00/hr if your lucky and you will be trying to get a bigger income by pushing extra products on there customers who are calling for help. You also dont know that when the customer calls and goes down the line of being transferred to you, they are already inundated with so many product ads from other phones workers and automated wait commercials that they will be cursing a blue streak at you, and good luck making an income. There are actually a handful of companies online who are hiring customer service reps. But just like the true typist jobs, many want someone with experience. They dont want someone who cant take care of their customer. And there are others who will train you if you have no experience but are someone they are looking for. There are a few, but its hard finding them amid all the telephone job scams out there. 8. The Instant Online Business You pay a sometimes huge fee and you can be making money in minutes. Or so they claim. Many of these sites are just selling you an ebook "telling" you how to start your own no fail work at home business. The website is filled with pictures of people on the beach, and yachts having fun. There are the testimonials from people who they say already bought the book and made so much money in a short time. All you need to do is press the x on your browser and get off that site. The only person who is going to make money is the one selling that expensive ebook. There are books out there with real information that will help you. But people have to remember that the internet is big and most of these sites are selling what you can find for free other places. Plus starting an internet business is not easy and its not quick. For some it took years before they really started earning an income that allowed them to live comfortably. For others they had to quit after losing hundreds of thousands of dollars. Online business creation companies will make you a website and tell you your good to go. You only have one problem, its not hard to create a website, there are billions of them. The biggest problem of any internet business is getting traffic and sales. Neither happen overnight even with the best website and product. 9. Medical Transcriptionist/Medical Billing There are ads all over from the hundreds that come up in search engines to the dozens that are emailed to you on any given month. 10. Craft Assembly Even as I was doing research for this article I came across a message board where many people were responding to an ad that went like this: "Work from home, no experience necessary. Make over $3000 a month." Medical transcription is actually a legitmate business but it takes a lot of hard work to get it going. The ads will tell you how easy it is. You pay them and mostly get a floppy disk or papers and thats it. All you find out is that you need to call doctors offices to see if any of them will hire you. The fees are usually outrageous as well anywhere from $300 to well over $1000 for there "software" and just like the data entry, its the only thing you can use. There are real places hiring transcriptionists online, however the no experience rule you see some advertise is a good indicator that they are a scam. You need experience, you need to know all of the coding and medical language. Would you want someone typing up your file who doesnt understand what there typing, and make key mistakes that could endanger your life? It should also be noted that the scammers have also extended the scam by creating "schools", for you to pay them and get a degree by doing a home course which is actually not a real certificate. To become a real certified Medical Transcriptionist you need to go to American Association for Medical Transcription and read all about the Medical Transcription Certification Program (MTCP).Work At Home! I was so very disturbed to see over 50 people giving out there emails while begging for more information on this. Stay away from it unless you have done the work of really checking a company out and even then I would pass, because there are simply only a handful that are legitimate and I have NEVER even stumbled across them as of yet. Craft Assemly, I saved the worst for last because the ones who run these ads online and offline, are right at the bottom of the scum bucket. There are 3 types of scammers for this one. Crappy Materials With all 3 types of companies it is usually the same. Type1 sends out an ad. You respond to the ad and they want money from you, but dont worry its "refundable". The amount of money is many times over a $1000, and they will tell you its to weed out the people who arent serious as well as to cover the cost of the materials. You will need to get expensive equipment such as a sewing machine or a machine to make signs. You of course have to get everything from their company because they need to make sure that you are using only the finest materials and equipment. You get the package and the materials are crap to say the least, the instructions are hardly understandable and you are left struggling to up together the dolls, aprons, crafts and other items. Your only problem is many of these so called "companies" are a P.O. Box which the owners have closed up and moved on. You are left with products that you will probably toss or have to sell yourself. End result all they were selling were the machines, thats where these people make there money from, not the "crafts" they want you to build. Type 2 is the same except you send them in the products and they tell you that the product is not up to there standards. They are right, after all with the shoddy materials they sent who can make a quality item? Congradulations, they have your money and thats about it. End result, they too have your money from the products you "had" to buy only from them. Type 3 well, they are simply the worst of this little trinity. Everything goes the same as type 1 except that they might actually send good materials. You send back the finished product and you get a response saying that the product isnt up to there standards. Unlike Type 2, the product is usually good and they sell it, while they make you think they tossed it in the garbage because it was just so awful. They have the money from the machines and your crafts and you get the unpleasant experience of being scammed. There they are for now. Unfortunately there are so many scams out there that was only the tip of the iceberg. The best advice I can give is to use common sense. If someone is telling you that you will make $10,000 a month, shut the door in there face, close the webpage, or hang up on them. Also be very wary of an ad that promises a lot but gives you virtually no information on what you are supposed to be doing. Determining Visitor Types
By Susan Friedmann The trade show floor is full of different types of people with different agendas. Some people have specific goals for attending the show; others do not. As an exhibitor your observation and questioning skills will be your key to determining who may be a viable sales prospect. Familiarize yourself with the various visitor types likely to frequent the tradeshow floor.
1.Definites. If you have done a thorough job of preshow marketing, definite prospects and customers will visit your booth.
2.Demonstration Junkies. Watch out for passers-by who are attracted to your booth by a demonstration or other activity. These could be valuable prospects or time wasters. Ask a few short, open-ended questions to find out.
3.Curiosity Cats. These types could be curious about anything what exactly your company does, a graphic, who designed your booth, and so on. Do not spend too much time with someone who is just interested in the design and construction of your booth or intricate details about your graphics.
4.Paper Lovers. Some people love to collect literature or just take any piece of paper no matter what it is. Are they attending the show to research the market for a boss? If so, they may be an influencer worth pursuing.
5.Eyeballers. These types are usually extremely friendly; they smile and their whole body language says, please talk to me. Questioning will determine whether or not they are prospects worth pursuing.
6.Jeopardy Gigolos. Winning contests is their passion. They are always ready, willing and able to drop a business card into a fishbowl for any kind of drawing. Contests that require more than just a business card to enter will help deter these types from finding their way onto your follow-up lists.
7.Keepsakers. Any kind of giveaway attracts these types. They may even want more than one for family, friends and colleagues. Keen questioning will ascertain if this visitor has potential.
8.The Disinterested. Some people in the crowd will simply not be interested in what your organization has to offer. They often let you know in no uncertain terms through their body language; for example, walking by purposely avoiding eye contact or chatting with a colleague. Waylaying these types will only upset them.
9.Hawks. These people attend shows for the sole purpose of selling you their products or services. Publication advertising representatives are a prime example. They are unlikely to be prospects, but you never know. If floor traffic is slow, it may be worth asking a few questions, if only to find out who they could refer you to.
10.Job Seekers. Trade shows are an excellent place to network and look for organizations who may have present or future job openings. As with Hawks, you may want to spend time with them during slow, unproductive periods.
11.Nonentities. These types could be underlings in their organization sent to do some specific research. Never underestimate them. They may be extremely strong influencers. In addition, they probably know whom in their organization you need to contact. Time spent with them could be invaluable.
12.Snoops. Beware of the competition! These types often give themselves away by knowing too much or asking precise questions. Make sure that you do more questioning than talking so that you lessen the chances of giving away valuable information.Written by Susan A. Creating the Perfect Profile for Online Dating
By Roman Zazulak If you have already joined or thinking of joining an online dating service, one of the things that you should consider is creating the perfect profile. Online dating profiles are an extremely important resource when communicating who you are to potential singles interested in meeting you. Practically every online dating service allows their members to create unique and individualized personal profiles on who they are, what makes them interesting and what type of person they would like to meet. Lets face it competition can be fierce, if you want to stand out from the crowd, one way to do it is with creating the perfect profile, here are some tips. Be Honest Honesty is extremely important when creating your online profile, while it is easy to exaggerate your positives and minimize your weaknesses in your profile, lying can be a deal breaker. Dont Be So Negative Everyone has pet peeves and bad days, however no one wants to meet or date a person that is constantly complaining or severely depressed. Show the positive side of your personality; convey that you are fun or interesting to be with and not a complete bore. No one wants to date a person that is miserable. State Your Preferences It is important to create a personal profile that gives readers clues on what type of person you are looking for. You might be a person that enjoys social surroundings, you might like intellectual activities or you might enjoy active or extreme sports. Your goal is to find someone compatible, so make sure you communicate what type of person you are looking for. Choose a Good Photo One of the most important parts of your personal profile is your photo. First off, its ok that you dont look like a movie star, but make sure you find a photo that portrays you in a positive light. If you dont have a good photo, ask a friend to take a picture of you. Try to stay away from taking your own picture or using web cams. Choose a good photo that is easy to view. Make sure it is not grainy or dark. Make sure people can see your face. Dont cover it up with a cap or sunglasses. Many online dating services offer you the ability to add 3 or 4 photos. This is a great resource, add a couple of photos while you do activities such as ski or at your favorite outdoor spot. This will give the viewer more information about you. A great tip is to change your photos frequently. While many people might see your first photo, you might get some added interest if two or three weeks later you change your primary photo. Keep Your Personal Profile a Decent Length Your personal profile can vary in length; however try not to make it too long or too short. For instance, dont write two sentences for your profile. Most people will immediately realize that you either have nothing to say or dont care. On the other hand, no one wants to read your life story, if they are interested in you and want to learn more, they will contact you. In his quest for finding the perfect wife, Roman tried every method imaginable until he finally got married to Gigi in 2004. Backgammon - True Probabilities!
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Ralf_Guven]Ralf Guven When you read other articles about backgammon dice roll probabilities you will notice an approach of accepting "2+1" and "1+2" as two different possibilities! But I don't like this way of thinking, in my point of view these two results are very same. It's only a situation when one dice comes "1" and the other "2", 1 on left dice, 2 on right dice, or 1 on red dice, 2 on the blue one! But when you say loudly the number to play is 2 and 1, thats it! Backgammon is not a game that you play with left dice and right dice separately, it's a game that you play by the result of two dices. So I consider them like values to play "1 and 2" or "3" which also mean two possibilities, but in a different way. This is important when you consider "5+4" as "5 and 4" or "9"; also double6 as "12" or "18" or "24"! And in my way too, there are 36 possibilities: 6 different doubles, 15 combinations, and 15 sums of 2 dices! Safe Online Dating What You Need to Know
By Jamie Jefferson Online dating has hit the mainstream. People of all ages and stages are taking advantage of interpersonal tests and technology to find a match that is just right. But is online dating safe? Here's what you need to know before venturing into the online dating world. Keep it Online For Awhile The first rule is to find an online dating service that you trust, so you might want to stick to the well-known, reputable online dating services. Do some research about the website or service before filling out any personal information. The largest online dating services have detailed privacy policies in place, as well as very specific guidelines as to what kind of information they collect and how that information is used. The big online dating services also generally have systems in place that allow you to chat with other members without giving away the details of your identity. Once you have found an online dating service that appeals to you and matches your interests and lifestyle, keep your personal information to yourself. Don't give out your phone number, address, or any other personal information online. Limit your correspondence to anonymous chat until you get to know the other person well enough to share your more personal information. There are lots of ways to create a semi-anonymous identity, and still allow people to reach you. For example, set up a free email account just for your online dating correspondence. You can also set up a voicemail account and a post office box. There are times when you may feel compatibility at first, and then wish you hadn't given away your information. Providing personally identifying details should come fairly late in the game. Making Phone Calls Use a public phone or a cell phone to make phone calls. If you use your home phone number, call the person yourself and block the Caller ID before making the phone call. Keep in mind that if you give your home phone number, your home address can be found quite easily. If the person has given you a toll-free number (such as a 1-800 number) beware. The number you call from will probably be listed on the person's itemized phone bill. Before you call the number for the first time, call directory assistance (or look up the number online) to ensure that the number you were given matches with the person's name. Do a search for the person's name on Google, ask.com, and zoominfo.com Once You Decide to Meet in Person If you feel like it's the right time to meet face-to-face, here are a few precautions: Do not go to the person's home. Instead, meet at a public place, where lots of people gather. You can also choose a special event to attend. Let a friend or two know where you're going and how to get in touch with you while you're there. Or ask a friend to call you at a set time. Let your friends know what time you expect to return, as well. You may even want to take a friend along for the first meeting, and suggest that the other person do, too. Not only can this break the ice, it can really help you to feel more comfortable. During a meal, avoid leaving your food, drink, or personal belongings unattended at the table. If you need to excuse yourself from the table during the date, take your pocketbook with you, and order another drink when you return. If you start to feel sick, call a friend immediately to ask to drive you home. Don't drink. It's important that you be able to drive yourself home. And if you travel for the first date, make sure your hotel accommodations remain a secret. This is an especially good time to bring along a friend along. The bottom line is: There are people out there who are going to want to take advantage of you. Don't be paranoid, but be aware. Follow your gut. Ask questions of potential matches, and be aware and skeptical of anything they say that contradicts something they may have said previously or anything they stated in their online dating profile. It's up to you to pay attention to anything that doesn't feel right. Online, anyone can be pretend to be someone they are not, so take everything with a grain of salt. Remember that you can't completely guarantee your safety in any kind of dating situation, but you can greatly decrease your risk by remaining alert and using common sense. Taking Offense At "It's All In Your Head" Is A Big Mistake
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Nick_Arrizza,_M.D.] Nick Arrizza, M.D. I recall talking to a woman several months ago about her rheumatoid arthritis and trying to convey to her that her illness was the result of many beliefs and memories she had stored in her mind/body. It became obvious to me that she quickly jumped to the assumption that I was telling her that the problem was "all in her head". She even used the term herself and then surreptitiously cut me off and decided to end the conversation, much to her detriment. I say this because had she been somewhat more open and less conditioned by past experience to cutting me off she would now no longer be suffering from her crippling arthritic condition. It is for this reason that I feel it necessary to address this problem and try to convey as clearly as I can my thoughts about an issue that I feel has the potential to change the way we understand and treat illnesses on this planet. It has been my repeated observation, working with a new tool called the Mind Resonance Process(TM) (MRP) that almost any physical illness stems from emotional roots. Now by this last statement I caution you from jumping to the conclusion that this means that someone with a physical illness is in any way crazy. After all isn't this what is implied by the phrase "it's all in your head"? I wish to be unequivocally clear that this "IS NOT" what I mean when I say what I said above! What I do mean is that emotional trauma, of one sort or another, which in my view is responsible for all illness (emotional, mental and physical in nature) becomes stored in the person's mind/body at some level when it is experienced. At some point the individual finds the emotional pain associated with such trauma, or the fear of the pain, so great that they begin, without realizing the consequences, to repress the pain. What does it mean to repress the pain? Well it means to try to not feel it. How is this accomplished? In many ways: through denial, through substance and alcohol abuse, through distraction (i.e. workaholism, sexually acting out, violently acting out), through overeating, through a process called dissociation where a person leaves their body whenever the pain becomes too overwhelming, through self abuse (as occurs in self cutting, self burning, self mutilation etc.) and ultimately through suicide (the final anesthetic, so to speak). Where does the pain go when one tries to repress it in the ways I mentioned above? Well, for one thing it remains in the body! To illustrate this via metaphor let's say that you have an abscess (i.e. a pus ball) brewing somewhere in your body and you decide that because the pain associated with it is so great that it is best to try and repress it through some medium, say an anesthetic. For a while, you will feel a bit better because you won't feel the pain. However that doesn't take away the fact that the abscess is still there and even worse that it is growing and becoming a life threatening time bomb. Sooner rather than later it will start to spread and affect other nearby organ systems. Eventually it will cause a systemic (i.e. total body shut down) crisis which could ultimately kill you. This is called septic shock, which represents the infection from the abscess spreading through the entire body through the blood stream. When this happens death is not far away. So at this point does trying to ignore the abscess sound like a good alternative to you? Well I suppose only if you think that death itself is a solution to your problems. If that is the case then I suggest you stay tuned to a future article I will be writing about this very issue. Now having used the abscess metaphor I return to the emotional trauma itself. When the pain of an emotional trauma is repressed it doesn't go away, it doesn't diminish in intensity, and rather it brews and grows much like the abscess does. It also spreads throughout the mind and body and "infects" it in a manner of speaking. Now because you are trying so hard to "not feel" the emotional pain (which by the way is the mind/bodys way of trying to tell you that there is a problem inside you) the mind and body try their best to alert you in other more primitive ways that there is a problem brewing. You have given them no choice but to let you know it in physical terms i.e. as a physical problem. This is when the physical illness emerges. Of course it's not surprising then that if you are told that the physical illness stems from an emotional issue you might feel offended. This defensive reaction stems from the same fear you had of feeling the emotional pain in the first place. So what do you do? Well you likely take such a statement as an offense to your sanity and dismiss or denigrate the person who said this to you. What does this do? Well it just perpetuates the denial! With the denial comes a desperate effort to try and extinguish the mind/body's only remaining resources to tell you that there is a problem. That is you seek out the help of a physician who will give you the drugs that will eliminate the physical symptoms too. Have you ever noticed how many classes of medications are labeled with the prefix "anti"? For instance: anti-hypertensives, anti-arthritics, anti-inflammatory etc. Does this tell you anything? It simply means that the medical profession is in the business of colluding with you to try and help you suppress all efforts made by your mind and body to alert you to the presence of a problem. Why is this? Well because the medical profession is just as afraid of addressing emotional issues as you are. It has been my experience that the "fear of feeling the pain" (which is a signal of the emotional trauma stored within) that many individuals harbor within themselves is one of the most toxic things on this planet. Even more toxic than some of the most devastating plagues humanity has witnessed. The other thing I know is that such a fear is one of the easiest things to clear, once and for all from ones' mind and body with the new tool the Mind Resonance Process(TM). If you'd like to know more about MRP kindly read my many articles on this e-zine and visit the web link below where you can download a free audio experience of the MRP process. Teen Fitness, Teen Health and College Health: Small, Easy Changes Before Big Ones
By Matt Elder Teen fitness, teen health and college health issues are everywhere. Teen fitness because teens are overweight, college health because of the "freshman 15" and teen health because of weight issues like Type II Diabetes. How can we make issues like teen fitness and college health less of such an incredible concern? When people talk about "teen health", how can we make sure the conversations are about how great our teen health is? Why can't "teen fitness" mean how fit our teens are? When trying to change things like college health and teen fitness, we need to look at the micro instead of the macro. Sure, teen health wouldn't be a big deal if all the McDonalds in the country were gone. And sure, college health would be a lot better if college students didnt drink. And finally, teen fitness would be a lot better if everyone made a varsity sport and there werent any vending machines in cafeterias. But lets face it, college health, teen health and teen fitness is at the forefront of our societys concerns because these things arent true. Because of this, college health and teen fitness will not improve with drastic changes. Teen health will be improved with small changes. Sure, fixing college health would be great by eliminating keggers. And obviously teen health and teen fitness would improve without the Internet. But in todays day and age, these things arent going to happen. Teen health and teen fitness will continue to diminish and college health will keep getting worse without small changes. Simple ways to improve teen health, college health and teen fitness: -Look for healthier options at the vending machines. Teen health is declining every time a student chooses a Ho Ho, Twinkie or packet of M&Ms. Most vending machines have healthier options.
Small change needed to improve teen health and teen fitness: Switch to a healthier snack like pretzels or baked chips. Or, if you cant do that, try to only hit the vending machine once every other day. Either choice will save you hundreds of calories a day. This will certainly help teen health and teen fitness. -Workout, but remember, this doesnt mean for 90 minutes a day. Teen health, teen fitness and college health wouldnt be as bad if students exercised a half hour a day. Thats all you need. (Go to www.GenerationYfitness.com for free and short workouts) Working out for 90 minutes is a thing of the past, and teen health, college health and teen fitness would be improved if you realized this. -Watch liquid calories for better teen health and teen fitness. By liquid calories I mean everything from beer (college health would be a lot better!) to soda. And, what some people dont realize, is there are more calories in a regular soda than a beer! Liquid calories certainly add up and are clearly affecting teen health and college health.
Small change to improve teen health and college health: Switch to diet soda, and if you must consume alcohol, switch to light beer and cut down on the drinking in general to save thousands of calories (and dozens of pounds of fat). -Learn to read! Teen health and college health would be improved if you learned to readnutritional labels, of course. Teen fitness would be fixed if you read these and learned how bad the food is that youre eating actually is. And, teen fitness and teen health would be improved if you learned about serving size.
Small change to improve college health and teen fitness: Stick to serving sizes when snacking. College health and teen fitness doesnt need drastic changes to improve. Teen health can be fixed with small changes first, then drastic changes after.
