By Terje Ellingsen Finding a part time job can be difficult but not impossible. You can do a part time job search on the internet and you can also search for seasonal employment. Which kind of persons are looking for part time or seasonal jobs?
Students at high school or college stay-at-home mother or father retired persons
are the main categories. What these people have in common is that they want a job that fits their lifestyle, making some extra cash as well as filling social needs like meeting people. There are companies on the internet which have specialized in providing part time or seasonal job opportunities. Even though you are not looking for developing a career, some of these part time jobs can easily turn into a long termed and fulfilling career. Which companies are searching for part time employees? These companies are in all kinds of industries but have a working schedule that is characterized by an uneven distribution of workload necessary. Therefore they need good, hourly employees to help them during their busiest times. Examples of these kinds of businesses are jobs in
restaurants retail stores
What is special with a seasonal job is that it's perfomed during a specific period of time. Examples would be
retail jobs during the holiday season farming, lumberjack jobs tourist guides like guiding people at attractions or working at an amusement park during the summer months
Retail job opportunities are rapidly increasing during the holidays and fill up even faster. When the holidays are over, so is the job. It is similar with summer jobs -- during the summer, places like amusement parks hire by the thousands but when the fall arrives, all the jobs are gone. If you want a seasonal job you need to know when and where to start looking. I recommend that you search online for seasonal or part time jobs and supply the search text with the area you want to work. If you do this regularly, you'll find the job you want sooner or later. If You Really Love Me
By Dr. Noelle Nelson Your new love is such a delight! What passion, what wonderful desire to be with you, only you, day and night, night and day! What a refreshing change from the last few men youve dated whose idea of commitment was dinner and a movie on Saturday night, maybe. Since that first blissful day you met, quite by accident, when your dog and his got all tangled up in their leashes outside the local Starbucks, youve been joined at the hip. How your life has changed in 3 short weeks! Youre positively glowing. Of course youve been ignoring your friends, forgetting about yoga class, and excusing your way out of your usual visits to family, but so what? Youre much too happy to bother with anything but him, him and him. A few more weeks of this, and youre beginning to float back down to earth. As much as you adore him, you miss your friends, are beginning to feel flabby, and are getting a serious case of the guilties over not checking in with family. So you say Hon, Im going to spend the evening over at Helens were getting together, just the girls, expecting him to say Oh, thats nice have a good time, Ill see you when you get in. Instead, you get Why? I thought you were going to spend the evening with me, when indeed you had no such plans. Uh, well, Ive kind of been neglecting my friends, you say, and anyway, its just for a few hours. I see, he says, cold as ice. Your heart plummets, Whats wrong? you panic, watching your love disintegrate. Nothing, he says, Nothing at all. You just go on and have a good time with your friends. Now he is not only icicle tongued, hes not looking at you. Hes dropped onto the sofa and appears to be taking great interest in Architectural Digest. Your Architectural Digest that hes never even glanced at before. No, go, really he says, finally looking up at you, with a sort-of smile. OK, you say, unsettled, but off you go. Exactly one hour later you get the first call. You answer your cell, surprised its him. He wants to know when youre coming home, he misses you. Surprised and somewhat confused, you tell him youll be back in an hour or so. In an hour, you get another call: are you all right? Hes worried, you said youd be home by now. Somewhat embarrassed, you leave your friends. You get several more calls on your way home, all protestations of missing you and cant wait to see you. On the one hand youre flattered, on the other it feels kind of creepy. And when you get home, he holds you tight and says If you really loved me, you wouldnt make me worry like this. Promise you wont do it again. But I just went to spend a little time with friends, you protest. You dont really love me, he says. I do! you cry. Then you wont leave me alone like that, he says, and his kisses melt you into agreeing, yet all the time you wonder what spending time with friends has to do with you loving him. Absolutely nothing. It does, however, speak to a major control issue. Controlling individuals want you to spend all your time only with them, or, put another way, they want your total and complete attention. Even when a controlling individual doesn't want you around, they expect you in some way to be giving them attention (thinking about them, doing for them) and they don't want you giving your time and attention to anyone else unless it is part of - doing something for them. Don't fall into the trap of "if you really loved me you'd spend more time with me," or any variations on that theme. Someone who tries to guilt you into spending more time with you isn't being loving, they are being manipulative. As the relationship grows and develops over time, your respective activities and interests naturally integrate into the relationship, and your time together will naturally shift and change accordingly. The key word is time, not "time" as in "more time with the new person," but "time" as in take the time to see how the various parts of your lives shift and change to fit well together before you give heart and soul away. Permanent Cosmetics
By Nancy LaTouche What is Permanent Makeup? Permanent makeup is a state-of-the-art form of cosmetic tattooing. The specialized techniques used for permanent cosmetics are often referred to as micropigmentation, micropigment implantation or dermagraphics. The cosmetic implantation technique deposits tiny individual implants of pigment into the dermal layer of skin to enhance facial features. The 3 most common procedures are eyebrows, eyeliner and full lip color.
How Is It Done? Permanent cosmetic procedures are performed using various machines, including the traditional (or specialized) tattoo or coil machines; the pen or rotary machine and the non-machine or hand tool method. What Can Be Done? - Eyebrows - Eyeliner
- LipLiner - Full Lips
- Cleft Lip - Beauty Marks
-Skin Grafts
-Scar Camouflage
-Areola repigmentation Who Benefits? Women who: Have sparse brows and are tired of brow pencils
Are tired of their makeup smearing
Are athletic, yet still want to look their best
Are allergic to conventional cosmetics
Wear contact lenses
Want to streamline their daily makeup rgime
Have colorless lips or uneven lip borders
Have had breast reconstruction surgery (can tattoo an areola)
Have scars and want them blended with their surrounding normal skin Does it hurt? Topical cream anesthetics are used to numb the area. Most people equate the sensation as similar to tweezing or waxing. Nancy provides instructions which further promote comfort. Not following instructions can promote bleeding and increase sensitivity.
Permanent makeup intrigues me, ..I dont know much about it.. You probably know of someone who has permanent makeup and they love it. Or you may have seen or heard stories of bad work. It seems that the media is more likely to expound on the horror stories rather than the beautiful work that can be permanent makeup. What Could Help Me Know If Permanent Makeup Is For Me? First you must determine if there is something about your face, or body that youre unhappy with. Say your brows are sparse, you use pencil every day and youre tired of it. You may want to look into what permanent makeup can do for you. If youve had breast reconstruction and the areola/nipple was not replaced, then a permanent makeup artist can tattoo one on, making a woman feel whole again. Napoleon Hill said We Refuse to Believe What We Dont Understand. Without further knowledge the average person cannot make an educated decision about whether or not something will work for them. This means learn as much as possible about permanent makeup prior to making a a firm decision about it. What Things Should I Look For In A Technician? Once you have decided that you want permanent makeup, find out more about the technician. See if they have a website; visit that website. See if the information provided makes sense to you. Did you learn anything from it?
Contact the technician, but instead of first asking how much it costs?, do this: 1) Learn as much about permanent makeup yourself before you talk to a prospective technician. Remember, this is your body/face you need to do your research and not rely only on the information they provide you. 2) How many procedures have they done? 3) What educational training have they had? 4) Do they have a portfolio of before and after photos you can review? Do you like what you see? 5) Does the technician seem interested in you? 6) Are they willing to provide answers to your questions? 7) Meet with her for a consultation. 8) Do you get a good feeling about this technician? 9) Ask how she keeps the procedure safe. 10) Then ask for costs. All About Hybrid Tea Roses
By Ken Austin Hybrid tea roses and the original tea rose are the world's favourite roses and are available in many gorgeous colors. Hybrid tea roses are among the most beautiful flowers in the world. They are the florist's rose. The blossoms are fantastic and each flower can have as many as 60 or more petals. You can not find a more beautiful cut flower. The fragrance also makes the hybrid tea rose an excellent choice to give as a bouquet or to grow in your garden. Hybrid tea roses are different from other roses because they produce their flowers usually one bloom to a long stem rather than in clusters. Most hybrid tea roses produce flowers during the entire growing season and the plants grow 3 to 6 feet tall. Caring for hybrid tea roses is no more difficult than other roses although you do need to give them special care in colder climates. They are no more or no less pest or disease resistant than other kinds of roses. La France" was the first hybrid tea rose grown in 1867 by a French nurseryman, Jean-Baptiste Guillot. He cross-bred two old garden roses and developed an entirely new kind of rose. Hybrid tea roses should be planted 18 to 36 inches apart or they can be planted with other flowers in large pots. There are hundreds of choices when looking for hybrid tea roses. Choices can be made by color, names or fragrance. There are hybrid tea roses named after famous people including presidents and their wives. The very first tea rose was a cross between a China rose and Rosa gigantea. These plants are more bushy than the hybrid tea rose but the well-shaped flower buds remind us of today's modern hybrid tea roses. Tea roses come in shades of white, pink and yellow. Start thinking about adding a tea rose or hybrid tea rose to your garden this year. Ken Austin is the webmaster at two sites related to Roses and Rose Gardening and Gardening Tips and Tools. Boxed Flower Programs
By Karen Marinelli A current floral industry buzzword is boxed flower program. This refers to the practice of selling flowers to the consumer in a box, normally through distribution channels other than the traditional retail florist. Some boxed flowers come directly from growers, some come from order fulfillment centers. In all cases, the flowers are delivered by a freight service such as Fed ex. Big players in the boxed flower program game are Proflowers, Growers Flowers, Flowers by Martha, and, perhaps surprisingly, FTD. Traditional florists and the businesses that support them, such as traditional wholesale florists, are rightfully concerned about the competition they are receiving from vendors who sell flowers this way. They are also concerned about the effect these flowers are having on the consumer flower markets perception of value. The fear is that if sub-standard quality flowers and floral services are being sold, the overall demand for flowers will fall; that the boxed flower programs are giving flowers in general a bad name. According to an FTD consumer survey, florists believe that consumers who receive boxed flowers are disappointed in the quality, price and service. However, consumers asked the same questions respond overwhelmingly that they are more than satisfied with their flower buying and receiving experience through boxed flower programs. Perhaps, the florists are responding to good science that shows that the single most important factor in prolonging the eventual vase life of flowers is the cold chain. In other words, flowers kept cold from post-harvest to home will perform best. In boxed flower programs, flowers leave the farm or order fulfillment center via a shipping company that does not have refrigeration. Flowers are generally out of the cold for 24 hours before reaching the recipient. I would challenge florists to consider how many hours their flowers are out of the cold chain before the consumer receives them. Do their flowers sit in buckets in their design room? Do completed arrangements sit in the garage waiting to be delivered? Are their delivery vans, and the delivery vans of their suppliers refrigerated? It is my assertion that flowers delivered in boxes and flowers delivered by florists have equal chances of good performance, provided everything goes well at each stop along the distribution channel from farm to home. Tremendous effort and pride is taken in the proper care and handling of flowers in the floral industry, however the more hands handling the flowers along the way, the more chance there is for a break in the chain. There are those who charge that boxed flower retailers are using marketing tactics, which mislead consumers to believe they are ordering flowers from a local florist. Should this be found to be the case, the traditional retail florist would certainly have a right to be angry. Laws of this great country generally support a level playing field. Its this nuance of the argument that goes unnoticed by many florists. While FTD loudly fights against those unfair marketing tactics, they are not so quick to mention their own boxed flower program. On the surface, FTD appears to be fighting the battle to protect their retail florist members while it seems to me that they are protecting their own interest as a competitor to those very same traditional retail florists who are their customers. I guess what Im saying is Game on! Both traditional retail florists and boxed flower programs are going concerns in the flower market. I do not believe they need to exist independently of one another. There are services provided by each that are not provided by the other. Each needs to understand the other and their place in the market, so they can focus their energies growing their businesses. This article provided by http://www.send-flowers-online.ws Karen Marinelli is a Floral Industry Professional with nineteen years of experience in the academic, retail, and wholesale sectors of the industry. She believes the common goal should be to sell more flowers to more people, more often. A Peep Into Satellite Phone Functioning
By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Paul_Cris]Paul Cris From your handset, there are three ways you can reach your destination number. They are:
(1) Satellite phone handset to another satellite phone handset;
(2) satellite phone handset to a cellular phone handset, through cellular network, and
(3) satellite phone handset to a landline served phone connected to PSTN. (1) Satellite phone to satellite phone: This type of call ensures security because the call is never routed through a Landline, or, PSTN - Public Switched Telephone Network, or, for that matter, through cell-network. Let us see graphically how it works: When you dialed your satellite phone handset the signal is beamed to the satellite from where it is redirected to the Earth-station. The Earth station, then, encodes and sends it back to the satellite which inturn, sends the symbol to the destination hand-set. (2) Satellite phone to cellular phone served through a cellular network: Here the call is routed through a cellular network. Let us see, graphically, how it works: When you dialed your satellite phone handset, the signal is beamed to the satellite from where it is beamed back to the Gateway from where the cellular networks, MTSO -Mobile Telephone switching office, which controls all the cell sites, and, by extension, all cell phones coming under its ambit, sends the signal to the appropriate cell-phone. (3) Satellite phone handset to land line connected phone set: Here the call is routed through a PSTN. Let us see, graphically, how it works As seen as your dialed your handset, the signal is beamed to the nearby Geo-stationery satellite, which, then, transfers the signal to the nearest LES - Land Earth Station. Cholesterol - Seven Reasons Why It's Good For You
By Muryal Braun 1.Did you know that it has never been proven that high cholesterol contributes to heart disease? Therefore, drugs that lower cholesterol have no benefit for the heart. So says Dr. Bruce West, cardiologist from Monterey, CA. Having treated 30,000 patients, he has concluded that the fortunate ones are the ones who have not been given cholesterol lowering drugs. 2. Did you know that your brain is half cholesterol? And that cholesterol lowering drugs prevent your brain from this supply of cholesterol that is necessary for the brain to function properly? Could this explain why Alzheimer's and Dementia have become so widespread in our country? And the medical community is now pushing to lower the accepted level of cholesterol below the already low standards that the drug company researchers had previously set. 3. Did you know that when you eat sugar, your body produces insulin to help you use or store the sugar, but if there is more insulin in the blood vessels than is needed to digest the sugar, the insulin irritates the blood vessel lining causing deterioration? When that happens, the body sends LDL cholesterol to mend the spot. After that has happened repeatedly, the amount of buildup in the blood vessel (called plaque) causes the vessel to become narrow and make the circulation through the vessel difficult and may even cause a blockage, or heart attack. The cholesterol is not the culprit. Instead, cholesterol is acting as a bandage to repair an injury. The secret to preventing or removing the plaque is not decreasing the amount of cholesterol in the body, but rather, changing the diet so that the surplus insulin will not be circulating in the blood. 4. Did you know that 75% of the cholesterol in our bodies is produced within the body and that only 25% comes from the food we eat? Doesnt it seem reasonable that the Creator must have had a purpose in planning for us to have that much? 5. Did you know that the cholesterol in your skin is transformed into Vitamin D by the sun for healthy bones (unless you wear sunscreen which prevents that from happening)? 6.Did you know that cholesterol is such an important substance that it is contained in practically every cell in the human body? The Honolulu Heart Program study, published in the August 2001 issue of The Lancet, states that the long term persistence of low cholesterol actually increases the risk of death. Normal cholesterol levels should run between 150 and 250, but the pharmaceutical companies are telling us they should be between 80 and 130. Dr. West, in his September 2005 Health Alert magazine says that that level is dangerously low. Cholesterol is needed to produce stress hormones and when levels drop below 100, people with cancer or other serious diseases succumb to the disease. If your cholesterol is below 130 and you are on a statin drug, ask your doctor to stop the prescription now. 7. Did you know that cholesterol levels are either normal or below normal in half of all heart disease patients? In recent studies of people over 75, those with the highest cholesterol were the healthiest? ( Dr. Bruce West- Health Alert) Dr. David Williams (writer of the Alternatives magazine) says, The cholesterol theory of heart disease has been dead for 20 years. It was shot full of holes when scientists showed that the majority of people who suffer heart attacks have normal cholesterol levels. This makes cholesterol-lowering drugs irrelevant and useless. He goes on to say, Ive been waving a red flag about cholesterol-lowering drugs since August, 1991, when I first discovered they are not only ineffective, but potentially deadly. (They can rob the heart of an important nutrient, CoQ10, that powers its beating.)
Meanwhile, 13 million people in this country remain on cholesterol drugs, and millions more are being urged to start taking them. It will be a long time before an official about-face comes. Tragically, hundreds of thousands of people will go to their deaths following this old-school advice in the false belief theyre being protected. Tragically, hundreds of thousands of people will go to their deaths following this old-school advice in the false belief theyre being protected. Build Your Business Through Networking
By Joe Love Heres one of the most important success principles youll ever learn. It is this: The more people you know and who know you in a favorable way, the more successful you will be in your business or profession. When you look around at the most successful people in your city, industry, or profession, you will find that they are the ones who are known and respected by the greatest number of people. One of the hallmarks of highly successful men and women, and most self-made millionaires, is that they network continually, everywhere they go and with almost everyone they meet. By learning and developing the skill of networking you can move ahead faster, rise further, and accomplish more in a shorter period of time. Networking should be an integral part of any marketing plan. Networking produces word of mouth, which in turn produces referrals. Every businessperson and professional knows that word of mouth is the most effective and least expensive approach to attracting new business. Yet few people really understand how they can create it. Networking is making contact to establish relationships that can lead to business. Sometimes the path to business is direct; other times it is indirect leading to referrals. Often times the person who you meet at a networking event will know someone else who needs your products or services. Many people go to networking events hoping to business right then and there, but it very rarely works that way. Business is not done directly at networking event. When you attend a networking event, your goal should be to meet two or three people, find a reason to follow-up, and start a relationship. Any future business will come from an indirect referral, someone they know who might need your products or services. Networks often have a greater impact than their size might indicate. Each member of a network knows dozens of people who, in turn, know dozens of others, and so on. Because of this mushroom effect, a group of 30 or 40 people might know literally thousands of other people throughout the local, national, and even international business community.
The possibilities are enormous. Being a member of a well-organized network is like having dozens of salespeople working for you all the time. Each referring prospective customers your way. Before you begin to network, you must have a positive attitude. When you join a networking group, remain focused on the reason why youre there. Too many people go to networking events and get caught up in nit-picking, such as the speaker was mediocre, as so on. These factors are secondary to the quality of contacts you are making. Never loose sight of the reason why youre there. It is also important to understand that people buy from people they know and trust. So to effectively network you must be a good listener. Listen to the people you meet to see how you might assist them in what they do. Giving first and giving more than receiving is a very important rule of networking. Contacts to establish relationships that can lead to business, only happen when the relationship is mutually beneficial. Networking is giving first, and then receiving. If one party does all the giving, then the relationship will not last and the networking ends. Networking relationships takes work and cooperation by all parties involved. Networking is not a skill you are born with, it is an acquired skill. It is developed through education, training, and practice. Many business people spend plenty of time trying to network, but very few spend any time trying to learn how to do it correctly. The way you learn to network is by reading books and listening to audio programs about networking, and by talking to other people who network well. And most importantly, practice what you learn. Before you attend any networking event you must have clearly defined, realistic goals. Most people go to networking events with the goal of handing out as many business cards as they can. This is wrong. Your goal in networking should not be to pass out business cards. Your goal should be to receive as many business cards as you can. Your goal should be to make as many contacts and get as much information as you can that will lead to increased business. At networking events, make sure your nametag identifies your company or profession. Always carry plenty of well-designed business cards with you. Use the backs of the cards you receive from others to make notes that will help your memory kick in about each individual. And, carry a card case with the cards of other people you network with, so you can hand one to anyone interested in their services. When you attend a networking event, greet people, hand out your card, and then ask for their card. Introduce yourself in a way that is brief, effective, and memorable. Take the time to plan and rehearse your introduction so you can make the most out of your first 60 seconds. Prepare an easy-to-understand overview of what you do, or the product or service you offer. Heres an example of a simple and effective introduction sequence you can use: * Give your name. * Give your business name or profession. * Give a benefit statement about one particular product or service you offer that tells people what you do that benefits others. * Then, get them to talk about themselves, and listen carefully. The key to success in networking is follow-up. Just like any other form of marketing, it takes time to cultivate the relationship before a lead can be converted to a referral or an actual sale. You must follow-up with your new contact with an invitation to coffee, lunch, or an after-hours meeting. Always send a card, note, or e-mail to the people youve met within twenty-four hours after the event. Mentioning some key points from your initial contact in your follow-up note is a great relationship builder. Always remember that the most successful people and companies are those that are the most trusted. Trust doesnt happen overnight. You must gain the confidence of other people by nurturing long-lasting relationships. Only then will you see a steady crop of new customers, referred by the people with whom youve networked. What it really comes down to is this: You can have anything you want in business, or in life, if youre willing to help enough other people get what they want. It is a simple and time-tested universal law. Yet, it is still a mystery to so many people in business. When you send a few people a day out to help other businesses in your network, youll find that the door also swings the other way: thousands of customers every year will go out of their way to buy from you, because they will be driven to your business through the power of networking. Smoothing Cellulite with a Little Help
By Craig Weaver Smoothing cellulite is a matter that a lot of people are worried about. This is the number one reason why people want to get rid of the cellulite that they have because of the terrible appearance of the affected area. Well there is some hope for this matter and it comes in the form of a cream. Now there have been a lot of cellulite cream comparisons here recently and they all seem to hold up fairly well. The problem is that not all of the creams are meant for smoothing cellulite in the manner that people want them too. The main issue that needs to be addressed is the fact that you need to make the skin more taut and firm in order to reduce the signs of cellulite. This is because of the fact that cellulite is actually nothing more than enlarged fat cells clinging to the inside of the skin and causing the dimples. The real trick of it all is to get the fat cells to release the skin and then firm the skin back up so it does not sag. This is the smoothing cellulite method that has been most effective for the people that are looking for a better appearance in the area. Of course the cellulite cream comparisons are doing nothing more than trying to match up products that are not meant for the same thing and work in completely different ways. But there is no stopping the people that do these kind of things and the people that are wanting a smoothing cellulite treatment are very confused by the whole issue. The main point of the whole thing is that there are a lot of cellulite creams available to you and the only way to properly judge if it will work for you is too try it. Now, this may not be possible but it should be attempted nonetheless. If this is not the way that you make a decision and you instead rely on what others had to say about the product then you may be missing out on some thing that is wonderful. You should always get the first hand knowledge of a product before you make any kind of rash decisions. There is nothing to be gained by making a bad choice and missing out on something that could really help you. Craig Weaver is the editor for http://reducecellulite.blogspot.com/ the number one resource for smoothing cellulite. Questioning Cardio for Weight Loss?
By John Paul Catanzaro Q: I've heard you mention that you don't need tons of cardio to burn
stubborn abdominal fat. Okay, I can live with that, but you've also said
that it isn't absolutely necessary to perform direct ab work either. What
gives? A: If you want to build a serious set of abdominals, routinely perform the
following exercises and their variations: squats, deadlifts, chin-ups, and
standing military presses. These multi-joint movements require a strong
contribution from the abdominals to stabilize the core, particularly when
heavy loads are used. It is not uncommon to hear clients complain of
abdominal soreness a day or two after performing multiple sets with a
decent weight of the chin-up or standing military press exercise - the ab
prestretch will tap into fibers you never thought existed! And remember,
your abdominals act as a natural girdle, or weight belt if you will, when
performing all exercises, particularly squats and deadlifts. These
muscles act as a bridge between your upper and lower body and are
heavily recruited as stabilizers. Sure, isolation exercises like pullovers, curls, and even triceps
pressdowns also require a good degree of core stability; however, the
loads used are relatively low compared to the big 4 mentioned above. In
fact, according to Siff & Verkhoshansky, isolation becomes virtually
impossible if large loads are used, and in many cases, the tension
developed in the stabilizers will equal or even exceed that of the prime
movers!* So, you see, the abdominals can be trained quite effectively as
stabilizers - the physiques of top Olympic weightlifters will attest to that. *Siff, MC, Verkhoshansky, YV. "Supertraining (4th Edition)." Denver, CO:
Supertraining International, 1999. (pg. 241) Q: I am still very much confused regarding cardio intensity. One book
says keep it low intensity (i.e. 60% of MHR) and go for distance; another
keep it high intensity (80% or more) and go for as long and hard as you
can. The goal is to burn fat. Each book has great arguments for their
approach. Which is accurate? A: The second approach is far more effective for burning fat. Without
getting into a huge discussion about this, here's how things work in a
nutshell. At a lower intensity, your body prefers fat for fuel. Yes, this is true, but
two things generally happen: 1. After awhile of doing this type of activity, your body adapts by actually
laying down fat (you heard me right) to become more efficient at the
given task and this usually occurs in the lower body, and 2. A higher relative amount of fat is burned during low intensity cardio
but a greater absolute amount is burned with higher intensity cardio and
in less time. Other things to consider are: a) the EPOC (excess post-exercise oxygen
consumption) is greater for a longer duration following higher intensity
work; in other words, you're metabolism is much higher for a longer
period of time post-workout with high intensity cardio, and b) higher
lactate levels exist with high intensity cardio. So what you may ask? Well
there is a direct correlation with lactate and GH (Growth Hormone) and
GH is a potent fat-burner. Bottom line: with regards to burning fat, do higher intensity work in the
form of interval training and you'll get great results. John Paul Catanzaro is a certified kinesiologist and professional fitness

Crying It Out - Things You Really Need To Know
By Linda E. Joy Remember the scene in the movie "Lonesome Dove" after Gus (played by Richard Duval) saved Laurie (played by Diane Lane), who had been abducted and assaulted. Since her rescue she had been unable to speak, and they were camping on the way to join their friends on a cattle drive to Montana. They particularly enjoyed playing the game of poker together so he set up a table and cards for them to play. The beautiful memories of pleasant times brought tears in her eyes. He hugged her close in his arms and gently told her to let them flow, to cry it all out; saying something to the effect that what happened was in the past and that was the way to keep it in the past so it wouldn't follow her the rest of her life. Truly those were wise words coming from a medium of entertainment. Just imagine what would happen if parents did that when their children starts to cry. Sure, no one likes to see their children in pain, and crying is a sign of extreme distress. However if they are not at the present time either injured physically or extremely uncomfortable due to external conditions such as cold and heat, or even very hungry, then maybe they just need to shed a few tears. Whatever the reason may have been to upset them is in the past; perhaps the tears are just a way of helping every person insure that the bad incident fades into distant memory. For a number of us have experienced how beneficial crying can be. No matter how you try and resist the tears, but when they flow theres relief, and whats more a cleared head and new perspectives. In the same way, when young children are in someones loving arms when the tears flow, and at the same time are told that the bad feelings will pass, they will surely experience the same kind of relief. Of course, this isnt to say that is would be a great idea for kids to be encouraged to demand attention at any whim or to cry persistently. Parents at all times should use their judgment about where and when its a good idea to pause whatever they might be doing and give a child a big hug and let them know that its okay to cry. Or else, if you have something pressing to do, you can even say I've only got five minutes, but Im all yours for that time, and maybe we can chat about it soon after. For sure, this pertains to families where children and adults are basically normal people. For children who have either behavioral problems and act out often and extremely, you may want to consider calling a professional in some aspect of psychology or a pediatrician. Linda E. Joy provides readers with up-to-date commentaries, articles, and reviews for family, home as well as related information.
